Dudes, I am tired this week. All I want to do all day is sleep, watch Law and Order: SVU, and sleep some more. I think this is all a combination of work stuff that is annoying the crap out of me, lack of good sleep at night, and my current diet/exercise problems. As in, I need to be eating healthier and get my butt back to the gym. It's just hard with this full time job thing and I am SO TIRED all the time. Not to mention the stupid editing class I have to take for work is the most boring, tedious thing ever. I really, really am not enjoying it at all. Ugh.
What I really need to do this week is take the time to plan out some meals (mostly lunches for work) and start putting my gym stuff in my car in the morning so I have to go after work, no excuses. And I NEED to stop procrastinating and do my grammar homework before Friday.
On a happier note, I'm spending the weekend in the city with my mama for my annual San Francisco birthday extravaganza. I'm really excited; shopping, eating, the opera, the Academy of Sciences. It's going to be a great time. So I need to get my act together, like now.
Do you have any exciting weekend plans?

One Lazy Weekend
I was going to put this playlist up on Friday, like I usually do, but the internet was being a brat and it didn't happen. Then yesterday I was too busy being lazy all day before going out with Jenny to stuff our faces with French food (SO DELICIOUS), so it's going up today. Sometimes these things happen.
Anyway, my obsession with 90s music was reignited recently, so I made this playlist and have been listening nonstop. So many awesome songs, so many memories attached to them (like MTV playing real music). I got my inspiration from songs I have on my iPod, but I was inspired by a Vh1 countdown of the "100 Greatest Songs of the 90s", which you can check out here.
What are some of your favorite songs (with memories attached)? And not just from the 90s, but from other decades too, I'd love to hear them.
PS I think I might have to do an 80s playlist next week

Getting to Know You
I saw this on a blog I follow (a pretty good one, too) and thought it was kind of cute. Maybe it will give my very small audience a little more info about this silly girl and her blog. I encourage you to do it too!
Age: 23
Bed size: Queen
Chore you hate: cleaning behind heavy things: bed, sofa, refrigerator. Awful. And usually very gross.
Dogs: I grew up with cats, and currently have a pretty cute one named Scarlett. But I really want a dog, maybe a Corgi or an English bulldog. I think they're the cutest.
Essential start of your day: Coffee! Hot in winter, iced in spring and summer.
Favorite color: Blue. And stuff that's sparkly.
Gold or silver: Almost always silver...unless gold is what goes with my outfit.
Height: 5'7"
Instruments I play (or have played): I briefly played the flute...and I can play one song on the piano. That's it. Sad, I know.
Job title: Book publicist.
Kids: Eh. Not so sure yet. Ask me in five years.
Live: Currently....Novato, CA
Mom's name: Michelle
Nickname: Mal, moo, stinky (dad's nickname), monkey(dad's nickname)...maybe a few more, but I can't think of them.
Overnight hospital stays: Nope.
Pet peeve: tardiness and bad table manners
Quote from a movie: Most of the movie quotes I like are completely inappropriate, so I'll go with a poetry quote instead. It's one of my favorites and I think it's beautiful.
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all
Right or left handed: right!
Siblings:No biological siblings, but 3 stepsisters
Time you wake up: Weekdays: usually around 6:30, weekends: whenever I feel like it.
Underwear: I have a lot? Because I'm totally paranoid about running out. But it's all really cute, so it's okay.
Vegetables you dislike: None really. Sometimes I'll get sick of one and not eat if for awhile, but I like almost all of them.
What makes you run late: I am never late. Ever.
X-rays you've had done: Teeth
Yummy food you make: I make pretty good brownies and pretty good manicotti
Zoo animal: Zoos make me depressed. I don't really like going to them.

Well hello there friends!
I've been such a neglectful blogger! Things ARE happening though!
First and foremost, Happy Memorial Day! I hope you all are enjoying a lovely three day weekend.
I'm moving home officially next weekend. Words cannot describe how happy and I excited I am. I seriously think that this week is going to go by so slowly. But I will prevail!
In other news, extreme couponing. I'm into it. I've been watching that show on TLC, Extreme Couponing and I think I might give it a try one day. Because I do love a good deal my friends, that I do.
So the next two weeks are going to be a little hectic, with moving and then graduation, but I'm hoping that I'll still be able to squeeze in a few posts, so please bear with me. Things will definitely pick up after June 12! And eventually I'll start doing outfit posts, once I have someone to take pictures.
But things are lookin' good and that's all for now folks!!
Happy Tuesday!

Some poetry for your Thursday
I feel as though my blog got a little neglected the last few days. Sorry about that, there's just been nothing really exciting happening lately. Just working and going to yoga everyday. (Though I will post a yoga update soon!)
Ummm let's see....my oven has been disconnected since last Thursday because it didn't meet carbon monoxide standards or something, and it was really annoying not having an oven for a week. I couldn't cook ANYTHING. But today we got a shiny new oven so I can cook again! Yay!
I was going to post a pretty poem about nature, because it's a pretty day, but all the nature poems I like are Romantic era poetry (Coleridge, Wordsworth, Keats, Blake) and those poems are kind of dark and depressing because the nature is a metaphor for sadness, blah, blah, blah. So I decided to scratch that because I didn't want to be a downer. Instead, I will leave you with a favorite poem of mine, which as actually a children's poem, but I dare you not to smile while you read it. I dare ya.
THE OWL AND THE PUSSY-CAT
By Edward Lear, 1871
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!'
Pussy said to the Owl, 'You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?'
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.
'Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?' Said the Piggy, 'I will.'
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.
See, cute right?
P.S. Friends, how would you feel about me starting "what I wore" posts, (outfits posts) not just of me, but of friends as well? Thoughts?

Nostalgia: music from the 90s
This weekend I was hanging out with Miranda and we got to waxing nostalgic about music from the 90s. Now, I am aware that I am only 23, and was therefore very young in the 90s, but I watched a lot of MTV and Vh1 (when they both still played music videos) plus I had Miranda, who was five years older, and her friends exposing me to all kinds of music. A lot of which included gangster rap. Picture that in your head for a second...15 year old Miranda and 10 year old me...listening to gangster rap. Yeah.
Anyway, starting in fourth grade I was a latch key kid and everyday I would come home from school and do my homework while switching back and forth between MTV and Vh1. Back then they actually used to show videos during the day, not in the middle of the night or at 5am, and none of this Jersey Shore or Teen Mom crap...don't even get me started on that stuff.
Wait...what was I talking about? Oh yes, music! I would dance around my living room to all kinds of stuff, some that probably wasn't entirely appropriate for a 9-10 year old, but who cares? It's not like I had the Disney channel (which cost extra $$ to have then). So much great music and so many artists that either are retired, died, changed genres, or just went crazy (I'm looking at you Lauryn Hill). Oh and all those one hit wonders who were kind of awesome? Remember "Sex and Candy"? And when Madonna wasn't trying to act like she was 21 and she wore her infamous cone bra and the sex book?
I suppose that everyone is nostalgic for music from their childhood, I mean my dad pretty much only listens to stuff he grew up listening to, so I understand that aspect. But, despite the fact that I really do enjoy a lot of music that comes out today (like my Britney), I just don't necessarily connect in the same way. And there is just so much bad stuff that is so popular right now as well...Justin Beiber anyone? I like me some Lady Gaga, but no matter how deep or artistic she says her music is, to me it's just good music to dance or work out to. I don't turn on Lady Gaga or Katy Perry or Bruno Mars when I want to listen to music that's more than just a good beat. And there are great artists today that do create more of a connection with their music, like Adele or Florence and the Machine, so I'm not totally discrediting the music industry of today. Luckily today we have so many options. Just sometimes I miss my awesome 90s music!
With that, I leave you with some songs that I loved and still do.
And arguably one of the best bands of all time and probably the greatest song of the 90s.
You know what it is, don't you?
P.S. Do you remember Pop Up Video? I totally want that show to come back. Could you imagine how great it would be today?

So this will probably happen a lot.....some randomness for Thursday
I was sitting on my couch today, trying to think of something interesting to blog about, watching a not very uninteresting episode of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. And I was coming up with nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada.
What's the point of having a blog when I can't think of anything to write?
Maybe I shouldn't try to force it, because then maybe it won't be so natural and then it won't be me...am I making any sense here people?
Right now things are kind of mellow, I'm in Davis working for the week, then going to visit my mom for the weekend. So there's not even really anything to report, other than that it is really rainy and I don't like it one bit. I'm ready for SPRING! Like now would be great.
So, with that I leave you with some random thoughts on this rainy Thursday morning:
Why does my cat feel the need to sit on my computer keyboard? Is it warm or something? I mean I've had to kick her off like three times while writing this. What's up with that?
When will people stop giving a crap about Charlie Sheen? I don't think I ever cared.
Will I ever find the motivation to go to the gym again?Cause this weather is really not helping.
Does someone want to get me some coffee? I could really use some.
Will I ever find something interesting to write about?
With that, I leave you with this video of my retarded, but cute, kitten, for your viewing pleasure.
